The Process of design is ongoing during any project. We work closely with our clients and their team to keep communications open, revise production when needed, and help with special logistics issues or concerns. There are many times we pause during the project to review our design and review with the client. Stone is a treasure for a lifetime. Although expedient service is valued in our company our first priority is Quality. Each stone is selected and tried for faults. Change is reviewed and verified by the client or project manager.

A design is driven by different factors. On some projects the design of the stone is very simple and needs to be repeated accurately. In other projects flexibility is essential. Using drawings and CAD models we can work with the clients, project managers, and craftsmen to produce an excellent product. This project required 2 types of Black Basalt ( Cascade Black Basalt for the pool and plinth cladding & Quincy basin Black Basalt for the fire bowls and columns), special drilling of 6” cores, precise selection of stone to keep symmetry , and a logistics plan to transport and install this exquisite work of art.
